Our Story

 

Maria & her husband Michael have 55 years experience in funeral service between them, working in the past for two of the largest funeral companies in the UK. They met whilst working together at Kenyons and married in 1997, Maria has spent all of her career as a funeral director and Michael was working as a senior funeral manager until retiring from corporate life in 2016. Their son Connor is mainly focussed on building a career in musical theatre but assists his parents when he can.

Through acquisitions and mergers, the family moved from London to Buckinghamshire, Winchester, Lymington and finally to Brockenhurst where Maria was the funeral director at R. Hallum, owned by the Co-op. It was often misconceived that Hallums was Maria’s own business because the family lived there and were always available. When Michael retired in 2016 the couple decided it was time for a change and to open Maria’s own business.

Maria’s aim is to offer a service which has total continuity, from your initial point of contact, through all the arrangements made, you will deal with Maria personally. She also conducts all funerals herself.
